Katie Rohe is a familiar face to PREP Classes as she has served as a Study Hall Manager for the past five years, and has been found subbing for many of the elementary classes at PREP over the past several years.  She has homeschooled all three of her children from Kindergarten through 12th grade, with her youngest daughter graduating this school year.  She has always loved learning and is excited to share this love with the students of Texas History.

Mrs. Rohe has been married to her husband, Brian for 23 years.  Her family is active with Providence Bible Church. where she teaches with the ladies ministry and children’s church.  When she is not playing board games, camping with family, or helping at church, she is the program director for a summer camp in Hempstead that focuses on sharing the Gospel message while exposing the children to a fun outdoor camp experience.

Teacher's Classes

As a transplant to  Texas, I first started studying Texas History as a Homeschool Mom.  We began our adventure by asking questions of our family members about how our family arrived in Texas. We learned that my husband's family came from Tennessee as indentured servants.  Those family stories have since made the events of Texas History come to life!  I look forward to the opportunity to bring those stories and more to the students as we not only study but also experience the History of Texas.

This course will help students discover and appreciate the rich heritage of Texas. Utilizing a wide variety of assignments, hands-on activities, and projects, students will explore major eras of Texas History from ancient Texan cultures to modern Texas. Class time will focus on interactive opportunities for students to become engaged in and inspired by the stories of Texas and the geography of our great state!
