This course will focus on literature, writing, and grammar. We will read some great novels, write some amazing things, and learn and review grammar along the way! English 5/6 is a teacher & parent partnership, and I will need your help to make this year a great success for each student. Parents will be responsible for facilitating grammar homework, along with monitoring reading and editing writing projects.

Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales by The Institute for Excellence in WritingA wide variety of adventures will supply a rich foundation for imaginative and enjoyable writing. Your students will work through IEW Units 1–7 as they learn to take notes, retell narrative stories, summarize references, write from pictures, and compose their own fables, myths, and fairy tales.

2023-24 Mandatory Parent/Student PREP Classes Orientation in August. Please see the PREP website under the "Events" tab for additional details.

Tuition can be paid by check, Zelle, or Venmo. Monthly tuition is due the first class of each month.  Late tuition will incur a late fee of $10.  For students who drop the class after September 30, three month'stuition will be required as a drop fee.  For students who drop the class after December 15, tuition for the remainder of the year will be required as a drop fee. (If paying by Venmo, please help cover the Venmo business fee. Prices adjusted to $61/month or $549/year.)

Additional Supplies: Students will need loose notebook paper and pencils or pens. Students will be provided with a folder for homework, journaling, and graded work.
