NOTE: THIS IS A TWO DAY CLASS WHICH MEETS BOTH MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

This class is appropriate for students who have successfully completed a year of Pre-Algebra and have strong problem-solving skills. Class time will be spent teaching algebra concepts and applications. Students must be able to take detailed notes (quickly) from the board and copy examples worked in class to review at home. Students will use the textbook as a resource for reference, daily homework assignments, and test review.

  • quadratic equations
  • exponential and radical equations
  • study skills and organization, in order to be a more independent learner
  • test-taking techniques

Often, we will apply concepts to real life situations.  Students will be expected to complete word problems.   Graphing will be integrated into the teaching.

Withdrawal after September 30th will result in a drop fee of 3 month’s tuition.  Withdrawal after December 15th will require payment of full tuition for the remainder of the school year. 

For all monthly tuition paid after the first week of the month, a $10 late fee will be assessed. 

To reserve your student’s place in the class, you need to pay the Supply Fee ($50) and the first month’s tuition ($100).  [Tuition covers both class days.]

Students should expect to spend as much time outside of class on their work as they do attending class per week. The class meets 2 hours on one day a week and 1½  hours on the second day for the week, for a total of 3½ hours per week. This class will earn the student 1 high school honors credit in math.
