THIS IS A TWO-DAY CLASS WHICH MEETS BOTH TUESDAY AND THURSDAY.

(NOTE:  Class times are NOT necessarily the same for the 2 class days.)

It is imperative that any student registering for Algebra 2 be very proficient in their Algebra 1 skills.

If you have questions about class placement, please contact me as early as possible so that decisions may be made in a timely manner to allow the student maximum success in their math studies. 

Topics covered: 

  • Relationships between different branches of mathematics
  • Extension of Algebra I skills
  • Real-life applications of math, including construction, engineering, sports, and video skills.
  • Probability and statistics
  • Matrices and logarithms
  • Conic sections
  • Sequences and Series
  • Quadratic expressions and equations
  • Trigonometry (if time permits)
  • SAT / ACT preparation throughout the year, skills essential for standardized testing. 
  • Organization and study skills, to be a more independent student
  • Development of logical reasoning and thinking skills

A graphing calculator will be used in class; the TI 84 Plus is recommended.

TEXTBOOK: Holt Algebra 2

Specific book and class information will be sent to students upon receipt of the deposit and supply fee.

Students should expect to spend as much time outside of class on their work as they do attending class per week (3½ hours). This class will earn the student 1 high school honors credit in math.

Tuition:  yearly tuition of $700 covers both classes per week

($675 if paid in full by the first day of classes)

Deposit:  $100 (refundable before August 1)

Supply Fee:  $50 (non-refundable)

Installments:  $100 per month (Sept – Feb) 

Student is NOT registered for the class until the Deposit and Supply Fee have been paid.
