Allen Margoitta

Allen Margoitta completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998.  He completed a Master of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in Microbiology in 2000.  He worked for ConAgra Foods of Lufkin, TX for a few months before beginning his teaching career in the fall of 2000 teaching Chemistry at Cypress Creek High School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.  At the start of his teaching career, he received a Texas Teaching Certificate to teach both Chemistry and Biology.  He taught Chemistry for 12 years at Cypress Creek High School along with AP and Dual Credit Biology.  In Spring 2012 he left Cypress Creek High School and joined the full-time faculty at Lone Star College University Park teaching Biology.  He continues to teach at Lone Star College University Park today.  He lives in the Cypress area and is a member of Cypress Bible Church.

Teacher's Classes

Come explore God's creation at the atomic level.

  • Chemistry is an honors course that includes full lecture, testing, and lab with stoichiometric calculations.
  • Numerous labs teach laboratory techniques and skills needed to navigate college lab courses.
  • Problem solving is stressed throughout this comprehensive Chemistry course.
  • Students must have a firm background in math and be taking Algebra 2 in order to enroll in the class.

(Students who have already taken Algebra 2 are thoroughly prepared)

  • There are no outside projects assigned in this course.
  • Opposing world views are discussed throughout the course and students see how an understanding of chemistry confirms a biblical world view.

Homework: 1-1.5 hr/day.

This class will earn 1 high school honors credit in science.

*Parents provide the textbooks for their students. Texts used are the Bob Jones, 5th Edition Chemistry, and 5th Edition, Chemistry Laboratory Manual. Only student texts are to be purchased.

*Class meets for 3 hours once weekly.

NW Campus: Wednesday.  7:30-10:30 am

*Course Tuition (including supply fee) is $750

*$165 payment and Mr. Margoitta’s science form is due at registration or by August 1st in order to hold the student’s place in the class.  This payment is non-refundable after August 1st.  The remaining $585 can be paid out over 9 months at $65 per month (September through May).

*Note: Tuition can be paid in full $750/year at registration if desired or split as described above.  Withdrawal fee after 9/15/24 is 3 months of tuition.

**Section A and B are the same course taught at different times.  Please only register for one of these classes.
